Tasty booze in beautiful packaging

Its many positive attributes aside, Omaha, Neb. is not known for being a brewing and distilling mecca. It’s also not the first location associated with packaging design (well, I’m not sure what is, but it sure isn’t Omaha). And then came Lucky Bucket Brewing and Solas Distillery. Not only is this the first brewery and distillery in Nebraska since pre-Prohibition, it’s a company that invests in beautiful packaging.

Love, love, love that they take a small (but growing) family of beers and give each of them a look that marries perfectly with the brew itself.

And their first spirit, Joss Vodka, looks the part of a premium vodka. Simply adore the use of red label behind the neck.

All the design (identity, site and packaging) came from Archrival, based just down I-80 West in Lincoln. There are plans for expanding the brand reach and product offerings, i.e. more opportunities for beautiful package design. I can’t wait to see the branding and bottle for the forth-coming whiskey…that just started its three-year aging process. Time for me to practice my patience, I suppose.

  1. The labels are gorgeous. Plus, you know, it’s all really frackin’ delicious. I will drink so much of that IPA this summer…it’s surprisingly good. It’s sneaky, too. You drink it and think “Hey, yeah, this is pretty dece. I would drink it again.” And then you drink another IPA and realize that it’s not as good as you thought it was before you had the LB IPA, and back you go! The bottles come out in March, and I will be procuring a case, for sure. I haven’t had Joss yet, but we have it at Brix, so I’ll definitely buy some next time I’m in the vodka market.

You and Jason NEED to come out to Brix. Seriously!

We carry the IPA and Lager on tap at Glo and its been doing wonderful with a great response on both beers. The Lager is a new personal favorite with the IPA in close 2nd. The Joss Vodka is also a great product and at a great price as well. CANNOT WAIT for the whiskey… and have to come out for a brewery tour ASAP. Thanks again gentlemen for the great products.
